Hello everyone! I know I haven't been posting much lately, but I really haven't had anything to blog about which is actually quite frustrating! My week has actually been quite good, but I haven't taken a lot of photos so these will have to do. First off, I bought these two items from asos curve. The first one is a lovely top with a cute little collar and the second is a cream coloured lace dress with cute little sleeves and a separate slip that goes underneath. I'm in love with them both! It's always exciting to get things in the post, especially when it's clothing!

I'm not sure if this photo is going to come out very clearly. I spent one evening this week helping out my cousin who is the maid of honour at one of her friends' weddings. This weekend is the bridal shower so I've been helping her out a bit to set things up! These are cute little jars that she bought and we tied bows around them with a little message, 'thank you for celebrating with the bride-to-be'. I think they are so cute and they aren't even finished yet! We're filling them with cute little pink and white lollies as a little party gift for all the guests. There are 50 jars! It took us quite a while to do them but I love all that sort of stuff - typical event management student right here!

I don't actually have any other photos of my week that I'm going to share on here, the other photo have my friends in them and I'm not sure they'd be comfortable with me plastering them over the internet! So, last Sunday was Australia Day, basically a day to celebrate our country and celebrate being lucky enough to live here. Typically, most Australians tend to get drunk and just have a ton of fun. I spent it at my friends house having a barbecue, going for a swim, playing some tennis, baking cupcakes and just having fun! I don't get to see some of my friends from my hometown very often, as we all live in different towns and cities for the university semester, so it's always lovely to spend time with them when I can.

This evening I went out for dinner and to the movies with my parents. We saw the movie Philomena. It was fantastic. It's such an incredible story, about a young girl who fell pregnant and whose child was taken from her by the nuns at a nunnery in Ireland. Such an incredible film and it's actually a true story, which makes it even more amazing (or heartbreaking, whichever way you look at it). I definitely recommend seeing it. There's so many good films out right now! Anyway, that's about it for this blog post, please leave me some suggestions in the comments on what you would like to read about on my blog! xx

If there's something I love, it's watching TV. I know, how bad is that? But I have a few favourites and seeing as I'm still stuck on what to write about it.. here goes!

1. Super Fun Night
Super Fun Night would have to be one of my absolute favourite shows at the moment. I eagerly wait each week for it to be on, and I hate that we only get one half hour episode each week. It's such a good show! It's absolutely hilarious, and is written (and directed?) and stars Rebel Wilson, who would have to be one of my favourite actors. Would I become an actor just so I can meet her and be her best friend? Probably. I know a lot of people find it a bit lame, but I think once you understand Australian humour (Yay for Australians! Rebel and I could be great besties) then you'll find it pretty damn funny. The show is about 3 friends who live together and decide that once a week they will have a "super fun night" from a bunch of ideas they pull randomly out of a jar. It's great. Plus there's romance and typical things that happen in the life of girls who aren't "perfect" and "popular" (who wants to be that anyway? pfft). Definitely recommend giving it a chance!

2. The Big Bang Theory
A favourite with a lot of people, I started watching The Big Bang Theory when it first came out, before people realised that it was actually super funny and not a weird science show. Extremely humorous and witty, this show never fails to have me laughing my butt off. There's not much more I can say except if you aren't watching it already, do it now!

3. Suits
Holy moly me oh my, if you're looking for a show that includes gorgeous men (hello, Harvey), great story lines, and incredible female characters (Donna, can I be you?) then this is the show for you. The show is centred around Mike Ross, a ex-law student who didn't get his degree who somewhat cons his way into working as a lawyer at a firm, and his hunky boss Harvey Spector and their lawyer escapades. Count me in.

4. The Good Wife.
I actually don't know what to say about The Good Wife. Husband cheats on wife. She returns to work as a lawyer at her old firm. Entertainment and drama ensues. Watch it, you won't regret it!

Leave me suggestions in the comments on post ideas, please! Unless you want to see some mindless dribble from me in the future (it won't be pretty)! I'm so stuck on ideas. xx

Since writing my post about being nominated for a Liebster award, I have been nominated another three times by Ellie CarruthersLip Gloss & Loose Curls, and Style Beauty! Aren't they lovely? I'm very grateful to have been nominated 4 times! Seeing as I'm kind of stuck for posts at the moment, I figured that a good way for you guys to get to know me a bit more is to answer all of the questions from these lovely girls, so read on if you are interested!

I am so, so addicted to soft poached egg and avocado on toast at the moment. I've had it for breakfast 3 days in a row! It's so delicious. It's really simple too, all you have to do is bring a pan of hot water to the boil, take it off the hot plate, put the eggs in and let it sit for about 10 seconds, reduce the heat on the stove to medium and then put the pan back on until the eggs are cooked to your liking. While they are cooking, I get some avocado and mash it up with a little squeeze of lemon juice (it really enhances to flavour) and put my bread in the toaster. I like tiger bread because it doesn't go soft like normal bread, it maintains it's toasty-crunchiness. Spread the avocado on, put the eggs on top and voila! Delicious breakfast all ready.
I'm actually struggling to come up with posts right now, as you can probably tell! I'm really not doing much at the moment, I'm on holidays so I'm just spending my days relaxing, lazing around and going to the gym. Please give me some suggestions of posts you would like to read! xx

One of my friends from home is currently house sitting at a house at the beach, so she invited myself and a few friends over for dinner and drinks last night. We had nibblies and stuff first, and then for dinner she made a lasagne and I brought along a delicious roast sweet potato & feta salad. Yum! It really is my favourite salad, the combination of the sweet potato, feta cheese, brazil nuts, red onion and other ingredients is so delicious. We also made some pink lemonade punch, and had a few glasses of wine and sweet cider. It was a lovely night! We stayed there for the night and drove back into town this morning, unfortunately it started raining so we couldn't be bothered to actually go on the beach but it was lovely nonetheless!

This afternoon I'm just relaxing and watching some of the Australia Open (I really, really love the tennis) and tomorrow morning I'm going to the fruit and veg market with my cousin who just got back from a holiday in India, and then we're going out for a nice breakfast.

What are you all up to this weekend?  xx

I have to say, I love this time of year because it's when the best movies come out. I've seen 3 out of 4 of these movies, and they were incredible.

1. The Book Thief
Wow. Just wow. The Book Thief is a film adaptation of the book written by Markus Zusak. Set in Nazi Germany, the film follows a young girl who is sent to live with a childless married couple, who end up hiding a Jew from the Nazis. Such an incredible, beautiful, amazing movie, I can only say that you all have to see it. Definitely one of the best movies I have ever seen.

2. Saving Mr. Banks
I loved this movie! Unexpectedly, actually. It's a film about the woman who wrote Mary Poppins, and it follows the story of Walt Disney trying to get her to sign over the rights to turn the book into a film. It's such a good movie, and it's funny because the author of Mary Poppins actually grew up in Australia! Which I didn't know, and neither did a lot of people who I've talked to. Definitely a must see, very heartwarming and funny and sad, but still a brilliant film.

3. The Secret Life of Walter Mitty
This movie was a lot different to the other three movies on the list. This one is entirely fiction (well, I think it is). Walter is looking for a missing photograph by a famed photographer that he needs for the cover of a magazine, and he goes all over the world looking for it. It's an interesting movie because you sometimes can't tell whether or not he's actually there, or if he's just daydreaming!

4. The Railway Man
I've yet to watch this one, but I'm seeing it sometime this week. I just can't pass up a movie that has Colin Firth in it (I would marry him, even though I'm 21 and he's 50-something. No shame). It's about a man who held captive during a war (not sure which one) and how he suffers afterwards. I'm not a fan of war movies, I find them far too sad and I'm such a big sook about them that I can't watch them, but this one is a must-see, almost purely because of Colin Firth.

Do you guys have any recommendations of old or new movies I must see? x
I've been nominated for a Liebster award! Now, before Elle Très Chic nominated me, I hadn't heard of what it was, seeing as I'm new to blogger. But that's the whole point! The Liebster Award is a way to recognise bloggers that are new or have under 200 followers, and a way to boost your own blog! Which is pretty good, I think.

The Rules
- Mention the person who nominated you with a link to their blog.
- Answer the 11 questions provided by the person who nominated you.
- Nominate 11 other bloggers with less than 200 followers
- Create a new set of 11 questions for your nominees to answer.
I haven't managed to find 11 blogs that have less than 200 followers.. Yikes! I'm a bad blogger. SO I am nominating all of my followers for a Liebster Award! I only have about 15, and some of you have been nominated already, so take this as me nominating you!
Elle's Questions
1. Where is your favourite place to find beauty products?
This is a hard one! I mostly go to David Jones or Myer, I prefer to use more expensive products (Estee Lauder, MAC, Clinique etc), but if I'm just looking to try a new product or don't want to spend a ton of money on a new lipstick I'll go to Target or Priceline!
2. What do you find hardest about blogging?
Coming up with new blog posts, even though I'm only new! I'm not quite into my blogging groove yet.
3. Describe yourself in 3 words
Umm... funny, sarcastic, organised!
4. If you had to eat one thing for the rest of your life what would it be?
It would have to be my mum's roast.. so delicious.
5. Are you a summer/winter/autumn or spring kinda girl?
DEFINITELY winter! Although, it doesn't get very cold here so it's probably more spring/autumn in other places!
6. What has been your proudest achievement on your blog?
Getting nominated for this award!
7. What is your favourite item of clothing?
Ahh.. either my china blue lace Topshop dress, or my coral Review dress!
8. Who is your favourite YouTuber?
Tanya Burr I think, I love her personality. Or Louise (sprinkleofglitter)!
9. What is your favourite fragrance?
I love Oh Lola! by Marc Jacobs
10. If you could change one thing about yourself what would it be?
Hmm. Probably my hesitation.. I really need to just go for things more and enjoy life, and say yes more!
11. What is your favourite thing about blogging
How you can meet people from all over the world that you have so much in common with!

My questions
1. What is your favourite makeup brand?
2. What is your favourite place to visit?
3. What countries/cities are on your must-visit list?
3. Favourite season
4. What is one thing you want to achieve in life?
5. What is your favourite thing to do in your spare time?
6. What's your favourite movie?
7. Least favourite thing about blogging?
8. Best thing about blogging?
9. What made you start blogging?
10. What would be one thing you would have in your dream home?
11. What is your dream career?

Ah! Three posts in two days, I'm starting to get the hang of this blogging thing! Today I thought I'd post about my favourite beauty products - non-makeup related.

1. Simple make-up remover
I love this make-up remover, it's one of the best I've tried, and I've tried a lot. I even like it more than MAC eye makeup remover, and it's an even bigger bonus that you can just buy it at the supermarket and it's pretty cheap! I also love that it is really gentle and isn't loaded with a ton of chemicals.

2. Dermalogica intensive moisture balance moisturiser.
I used to be a dedicated biotherm fan, but there is no longer a biotherm counter in my nearest shopping centre so I decided to try something new. I get quite dry skin on my cheeks, especially in winter, and I find that this moisturiser is fantastic for dry skin as it's an "intensive" moisturiser. Definitely recommend it!

3. Clinique take the day off balm.
I only recently purchased this product, so it might be a bit early to say how it's going, but I really like it so far! It's different to a lot of cleaners because it's quite thick, not like a moisturiser though, and you put it on dry skin and massage it in, then rinse it off. I am really enjoying using it and my skin is liking it as well! It's even good for sensitive skin, which I have.

4. Lush dream cream
I bought this mini lush cream when I was in Melbourne, and when I run out I'm buying the full tub! I think I'll keep this little container though for when I travel, it's the perfect size. The dream cream smells sort of lavender-y and lovely and it goes on easily and you only need a little bit to go a long way. I have a few stretch marks (who doesn't) and it's really really helped these, in just a week or two. It's fantastic!

5. Lush grease lightning
Spot remover by lush, I haven't used it a lot but it seems to work in preventing them from showing up or getting bigger.

6. KMS California curl up
A clear curl cream, I like to use it most days. I scrunch it into towel dried hair and then let my hair air dry, it really enhances the curl and looks lovely!

7. John Frieda frizz-ease
This one is a mousse, I use it sometimes with the curl cream or just by itself to stop frizz and enhance my natural curl.

So that's it! These are currently my favourite beauty products and I would recommend all of them! I also love my toiletries bag which I got as a Christmas gift from one of my friends, but she got it on ASOS! x

A dark burgundy-ish coloured lip is one of my favourite looks right now. Even though it's summer here in Australia I really adore it, it looks so classic and beautiful, especially on girls with fair skin and dark hair. I really need to get my hands on a nice dark lipstick, does anyone have any recommendations? My favourite images are the girl on the left with the dark hair, and Sarah Hyland (on the right). So stunning!

Over the past year I have found it incredibly difficult as a uni student to find a job. I have applied for countless positions and for almost all of them, I've been rejected before even having an interview. If you've been in the same position as I am then you will understand how disheartening it can be. So when I received an email today saying that a company was interested in me for an interview, I was obviously excited... until I read their full email. It turns out that they want me to operate under my own business/ABN, which means I would need to pay GST to the government, I would need my own public liability and insurance cover (which costs a lot) and a bunch of other stuff.. and the hour wage is $20 per hour. Which basically means I'd be sending 10% of my income to the government, and I'd have to pay a ton of money to be registered as a business owner, and so on and so forth. Ugh, I was so incredibly annoyed! The first non-rejection letter and it's basically just as bad. So I need some positivity today and to focus on the good. Obviously it was just not meant to be and I need to focus on all the good things in my life right now. I had a good work out at the gym too so that got some of my frustration out!
Well, thanks for reading my rant (if you did)!

My bedroom currently is what you would expect of a teenage girls bedroom.. When I was 15 I got my room painted with a bright pink feature wall.. yeah. I loved it at the time and I don't regret the colour choice, but now I'm 21 and I need something a bit more mature, so I'm getting my wall painted in the colour of the rest of the walls in my room, a really light grey with I think will look wonderful with this Sheridan quilt cover set! I've already bought it and I'm just waiting for it to arrive.. so exciting. My parents are also getting ready to sell our house in the next couple of years (I live here between uni semesters, and I live in the city during uni), so it will also make it look a lot nicer for when we come to sell, and then I will take the quilt cover to my room in the city! I currently have a lavender hydrangea print Sheridan cover on my bed there, which I still love. Do you have any suggestions, or what is your favourite current colour palette for you room?

So, today was the day that we took down the Christmas tree and all the decorations we had up. It was a sad day, I really love Christmas! They were probably up for a bit long, but it's been way too hot here to do anything (even in the aircon). 41 degrees just makes you so sluggish and lazy! But it's start to cool down a bit and only hit 39 degrees today ;)

Anyway, seeing as I was feeling sad that Christmas is already over, I decided to blog about... my Christmas Pavlova! Pavlova is such a traditional Australian (Or New Zealand... no one really knows) dessert that I have to make it every year, I love topping mine with raspberries, blackberries, whipped cream and shaved dark chocolate.. mm yum!

Just typing about it makes my mouth water, bad decision Grace! I'm trying to eat healthier and be more health conscious, and I'm doing alright! I made a chicken salad for lunch and I went to the gym for almost an hour this afternoon. But I had ice cream for dessert.. oh well, small steps!  Sorry if this post has been super boring, I haven't been doing much because of the heat!

Hope you all had a good weekend!
Seeing as this is a brand new blog (and I'm very, very bored) I decided to post a few photos from my instagram feed over the last year. Pretty much because I have nothing else to do, and also so whoever reads my blog can get to know me a little better!

Beginning and ending the year with some strawberry daiquiri's (my favourite)!

Mmm... shortbread cookie!

I saw Taylor Swift in concert for the 2nd time this year... she is just incredible.

Cocktails at the Atrium Bar in the Crown Casino in Melbourne! Spent a wonderful week here having a holiday.

I turned 21!

Birthday flowers

A stroll in the park in spring.

And again.. my favourite cocktail!

This has been somewhat of a pointless post, and I may delete it in an hour or so but... oh well! Hope you enjoyed!

Holy moly, it's hot right now. I'm currently sitting in my lounge room in the airconditioning (which isn't really working) as it's 41 degrees celsius outside. I think this is the hottest summer we have had so far! It's so humid which doesn't help either. Seeing as it's so hot outside there's not much to do except get burned, so I figured I'd write a short little blog post to cure my boredom for a little bit! I took this photo yesterday when I was in the bath (obviously), I only used the cold tap and the water was still too warm! But it was lovely anyway, I used my favourite lush bubble bar which is 'Rose Jam Bubbleroon Bubble Bar'. It's so delicious smelling and it splits into two pieces so you can use it more than once. Score!
Hope you are all enjoying the weather wherever you may be :)

Can anyone actually believe it's 2014? I for one can't, but I also can't say that I'm sorry to bid 2013 goodbye - it wasn't the best year for me (not that it was a terrible one, just a bit average).

As it is a new year, I decided to start a blog just so I can keep track of 2014. I can hardly remember any of the good (although I can remember the bad) things that happened last year (okay, it already feels weird saying that), and not being able to remember the good things in life is never good! So I've decided that this blog will hopefully help me keep track of this year, and there's a few things I want to change...

I suppose you could call them resolutions, so here goes:

1. Get fit.
I know I'm not the fittest person around, so my number one thing I want to change this year is my food intake (more good food, less bad food) and exercise. I have joined a gym here at home just before Christmas, but I want to continue with the exercise routine once I get back to the city for university.

2. Get better grades.
I know probably most of this list will probably be pretty typical things, but I really need to get better grades this year. My grades aren't too terrible, I range from passes to high distinctions, but I really want to increase my GPA as I'm going into my last year of university and will be graduating!

3. Get a job
I've been lucky enough that during university I haven't needed to get a job so far, but this year I want to make an effort to do some part-time/casual work. I've arranged my uni schedule so I can fit in getting a job, it's just a matter of applying and interviewing now!

4. Socialise more.
This one's pretty obvious, I was a bit of a recluse last year with a horrible housemate and hard subjects at uni, but I'm definitely going to make an effort to socialise more this year.

5. Be a nicer person
I like to think I'm a pretty nice person in general, but I need to make an effort to smile more and people and be a bit less judgemental and gossipy.

6. TRAVEL
huge one on my list for this year. I haven't travelled overseas since I was 14, and I haven't stepped foot inside Europe or the UK. Ireland and France are definitely high on my list and I really really really want to get there sometime this year.

I think I'll leave it at this for now. If I think of any more I might add them in at a later date, but for now I think this is a good start!
